Diagram programs?

Do you know of any programs for making diagrams that's not dia. I'm planning on using it for notetaking in class.

Dia is what I use most often though. None of them hold a candle to pencil and paper though as far as speed goes.

open office Draw is "ok" for such things.

There's also Inkscape, in the repos.

For notetaking, you might also consider View Your Mind (vym). It's for drawing mindmaps, and I believe it's quite effective.

There's also Kivio (similar to visio) if you don't mind KDE.
I also like Freemind (java-based) for mind-mapping.
