View Full Version : [ubuntu] [SOLVED] Evolution can't see network

Yesterday I posted a question about Evolution on an Ubuntu laptop not seeing my home Windows network. Today I got back into work and now Evolution can't see the network at work that it saw on Friday. I'm very confused. Firefox accesses the Internet, under Places I can see the company servers, yet the send/receive button on Evolution is shaded out.

I'm sure this is a very simple, newbie problem, but I'm flummoxed.

Thanks for any help,
Brian

Do you need to connect through a proxy server? If so it should be set in System -> Preferences -> Network Proxy, as evolution will take its proxy settings from there.

It could also just be that you need to set evolution to online mode (file -> work online).

Thanks, MegaJim. It was a question of setting evolution to online mode! I knew it was something basic!
