I bought a serval performance a few weeks ago, and have liked it quite a bit. A handful of hardware suggestions for System 76:

Eraser. I've always preferred the eraser / nubbin / pointer device over the touchpad. Only a few laptops in the linux realm have these, so this would be a good differentiator.
Middle mouse button. Lots of applications like having a middle mouse button. The laptop is big enough to support it well.
Volume scroll wheel. A toshiba I owned had a scroll wheen for sound on the left-hand side. It naver broke, and was much handier than using the Fn combo to raise and lower volume.

I knew that the laptop didn't have these when I bought it, so I'm not griping. I do think it'd help System 76 sales if you could sell a laptop that had these, so that's why I've brought it up.

It's not the same as an actual button, but tapping with two fingers on the touchpad performs a middle-click. It works well enough for me that I've never really desired a separate button.

Wow, I never knew that! Thanks for the tip.

And, I've always disliked the "eraser" pointer device. It's a distraction while I'm typing. Please keep the touchpad or at least make it an option.

-RobIt doesn't really distract me or get in my way, though I don't really like them myself. The one's I've used before usually were hard, so they hurt my fingers, but if you adjust the sensitivity to a reasonable level it's still much better than having your fingers sticking to the touchpad(happens to me sometimes, but when it doesn't my fingers glide across it like ice. ^.^ ).

I agree that an option would be nice, but if it doesn't get in the way and an option isn't possible, then I think including it would be better than not having it at all.

I second the volume scroll wheel. It would be nice to able to adjust the volume as you boot up, rather than afterward.

Also, a battery that was flush with the back of the laptop would be nice. I have to remove the battery to put the laptop in a standard laptop case anytime I want to move it around.
