How do I create a Fedora live dvd in Ubuntu? I tried writing to live cd files to a disc, but it wouldn't boot.

You need to burn the CD as an "image" (an .iso) not a data CD. Use Brasero and click on the "Burn Image" button from the main menu. I suggest burning it very, very slowly. Say, 8X or even 4X.

The quickest way to go about this:
Download the ISO image, and it appears you already have. (Make sure to save it to your desktop.)
After it has downloaded, and the ISO image is on your desktop, it will have a picture of a CD image, or something along those lines. Take your blank DVD-R and put it in your computer.
After a disk has popped up on the desktop, and your computer has recognized the disk, right click on the fedora ISO image and click write to disk. Write it as SLOW as the burner will possibly go.

Are you trying to make your own custom version?

also, make sure that you get the one, big DVD .iso, not the several individual .iso files for CDs. my DVD .iso for fedora 8 is 3.2gb in size.
whitefang: nice to meet you, too.
