when you run winesetup, did you specify your actual windows partition or let it create a fake windows installation?
i ask because i let it create a fake windows installation but when i tried to run a game, it said it was missing dx files, so i copied some over but the game has other errors
will wine work with a windows install on an NTFS partition and is this better than using the fake files

If you are using one of the later versions of wine, you can just run winecfg in a terminal. I don't know about earlier versions of wine though.
