no inernet: no network devices have been found

Hi,

I know this has been addressed in other posts, but this problem appears to be a little different.

I have just installed Ubuntu7.10 and dual booted it with XP on a eee pc 1000. I have previously installed 7.10 on a eeepc900 (no dual boot) with no probs with the adsl connection (wireless was a different story of course but I was fine with installing madwifi)

With the eeepc1000 and dual boot I have no internet connection at all and just the message "no network devices can be found" (or similar).

I am new to linux but usually manage to muddle my way through so any simple solutions are much appreciated.

just to clarify - internet access (wireless and connected directly to adsl) works fine.

Just to clarify the clarification, internet connection in XP works fine but not in Ubuntu.

Sorry about that. Any help with the Ubuntu prob much appreciated.
