So ive been using windows for 6 years, and i switched to ubuntu just recently(not a complete switch tho). I have some experience with it already, but i just cant get used to the Gnome enviorment.. its just so...different from what ive been using for so long now..

so, i heard that KDE has somewhat windows-ish (:D) interface.. is that true?

also, if i heard that if i install it and if i use it on OS with gnome already installed, i would get a huge mess in my main menu in both enviorments. is that true?

KDE has a reputation for being more Windows-like, but that's mainly due to the defaults (one taskbar at the bottom and a bluish theme) than the actual desktop environment.

Read more here:

You'll have more apps in your applications, but it certainly isn't a huge mess. If you want to start fresh, you could install Kubuntu though. Kubuntu 8.10 is amazing, but it's still alpha, you could try it if you want, KDE 4 rocks :D (The Kubuntu 8.04 KDE4 remix kinda sucks though :() If you wanna install KDE on top of your installation, simply type this in a terminal, you'll like it and never turn back, KDE FTW :KS

sudo aptitude install kubuntu-desktop

Yes there is, and it will, but only if you installed Xubuntu through aptitude. Unfortunately, if you installed with apt-get/synaptic/whatever else, then you won't be able to remove everything with that command.
