Well my laptop just froze up on me for the first time. Got it a few months ago and it's been great. I was just in firefox and pidgin when all of a sudden it froze. The pointer was missing and none of the laptop buttons did anything. Control Alt Backspace, Control Alt Delete, and F4 didn't work. Had to hold down the power button to turn off.

What struck me as odd is that, what appeared to be, the caps lock and scroll lock lights were blinking in unison. Never seen this before. Just a random crash or is this something I should be worried about?

Yeah, I've had this before. It seemed rather alarming to me, but I've never noticed any other problems with it. It's only happened a few times, randomly, and it hasn't increased in frequency for me. I'm too dumb technically to know what it is, but my gazv2 has always recovered from it with a hard shutdown. Anyone else experience this?

Before doing a hard shutdown, you might want to try pressing Alt+SysRq and, while holding both down, press these keys one at a time: R S E I U B.

If it works, there will be less chance of hosing your filesystem.

If the problem occurs again, reboot and go to System > Admin > System76 Driver > Support > Create and send the log archive it creates in your home directory to support(at)system76(dot)com. I'll have a look at it and try to figure out what happened.
