This is a list of free Windows Bible Study software that installs directly into Wine. This list is not complete, and if you know of something else feel free to add to it.
To install these, make sure you have Wine 1.0 or later. Download the EXE files to your favorite location, then right click on the file and choose “open with wine” or just double click the file and do the usual Windows installer stuff. I hope this helps some of you find the resources you need. May The Lord bless you in your studies.

In the beginning was THE WORD. This is an excellent program, and easily installs directly into Wine. I have the 3.0 bete version installed. Download here (http://www.theword.gr/en/).
The Unbound Bible, is also an excellent resource. It also has a little companion app called Bible Verse that is really nice. It displays random verses in a little window on your desktop. The transparent function doesn't quite work, it displays a gray box instead of a transparent background, but if you set the color of the background to something you like it is still very attractive. See here (http://vrsoft.org.ru/english/verse.shtml);
The Interlinear Scripture Analyzer installs and runs very well also, Here (http://www.scripture4all.org/);
Theophilos Bible Software This is a beautiful Application, and it is a free Download, however the modules are not free. For those who have to have software with the NIV or other commercial Bible versions, The modules are about the least expensive ones I have seen. One note though, before you run it the first time turn down your volume, it plays a very nice introduction tune and greeting, nice when your prepared for it :) Get it here (http://www.theophilos.sk/);
Not exactly Bible study, but if you are involved in Youth ministry or adult Sunday school this one could be very handy. Easy Sunday School Planner can be found here (http://easy-sunday-school-planner.findmysoft.com/);
This one is not exactly software, but I wouldn't be without it on my computer. Free Downloadable MP3's of the entire Bible. A great aid for the visually impaired, or those that like to study while they work, you can even put it on your MP3 player. Here (http://www.audiotreasure.com/);

Great post, cjm5229!
Thanks for the info. I like the audiotreasure.com especially.

May I ask why you are not allowed to use your signature? I vaguely remember yours. There was nothing offensive in it. This forum may be goind down hill.

This is a list of free Windows Bible Study software that installs directly into Wine.

I could make an installer that would download and install all the free Windows Bible Study Software on this list. What do you think? Would it be usefull or overkill?

My idea is to include this installer in next ubuntu CE release (together with e-sword installer). So that people wanted to use any windows bible study just need to launch the installer and choose from the GUI menu what they want to install.

I think that would probably be a very useful feature, kind of a Synaptic Package manager for wine. I hope we can find some more things to add to the list. One thing I did forget to mention, is that Dansguardian will probably have to be disabled in order to install some of this stuff. It has a real aversion to the word Sword. and almost all of these have that in the title somewhere. But, yes David I think that would be a great addition.
God bless You,
Carl

I have made installer for all the above softwares that would download and install them automatically. If in case the download fail (software link moved) and user have to download the program manually, I have added manual installation to install downloaded file.

All are done in default wine folder, without any tweaking. If you found any of the software need tweaking, please let me know I will try to add the tweaking as well, if I could do it automatically.

Please see file attached.

Thanks David, my main computer here already has all of them on it but i have an old one that I'm testing Intrepid Alpha 5 on, just did a fresh install on it and haven't finished setting it up yet, but I have plenty of HDD space on it and I am going to put a fresh install of UCE on it too. and test this out. Our City has been celebrating it's 150th Birthday this weekend. Our Church had a float in the parade yesterday, and I was passing out brochures along the parade route all day, and today we have a wonderful Gospel band playing at Church, then we have a guest preacher from Washington DC, He's the Chaplain to DC, and a candidate for President of the US. I'm going to be there all day again today, but i am going to do my best to get this tested.
