Hi guys,
Am in trouble. I am using ubuntu server 8.04 (hardy). Am despareately trying to install the gui but I don't have an internet connection to automatically install it from the web. The only option i have is to use my flash disk. Also i can't access the contents of my flash disk in ubuntu server as easily as the desktop. What packages can i install to get my system up an running? Can someone please help me figure out a solution?

You can get the source of packages from http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/

To get the desktop environment you will want either the gnome, kde or xfce packages. GNOME is the default for ubuntu.

What do you mean it is difficult to access the flash drive in the server? Are you able to access it at all?
