A coworker sent me this.....how can I know if my system is at risk?

If you haven't already gotten the update, You can go to System -> Administration -> Update Manager and press check

Well the article you linked says it has been patched, so update your system and your fine.

That article doesn't give much info but I remember reading about a security hole in the linux kernel that was found, reported then patched, it was local only and allowed the same things so I think it was what this is talking about. I love how they give no info.
