View Full Version : [ubuntu] How to get 1024x768 on ancient Latitude LS?

I am a Linux noob

I recently installed Ubuntu 804 on my old Latitude LS to make a homemade UMPC. I am quite excited by my first impressions of Ubuntu

Unfortunately I can't get into it as much as I would like because the only screen resolution I can choose is 800x600.

This makes some programs (eg evolution mail) unworkable because I can't see the whole window on the screen. Web pages are similarly awkward.

I have done a lot of research here on the forums and elsewhere and played about with my xorg.conf but to no avail.

I know 1024 x768 might not be possible on old piece of cr*ptop, but I'm sure I got it under Windows 2000. Definitely displayed better
