Wanted: IR / Bluetooth Control for Ubuntu

I already tried the search, but that did not help me.

I am looking for some remote control for my PC. And this should work with Ubuntu too, of course :-)

Well, i do not know anything about it, i just know that it is possible with IR and Bluetooth, but i don't know which one to prefer.

Is it possible to, for instance, not only have feature like "Volume Up/Down" and "Next/Previous Track", but also System Controls like Shutdown?
