Running UT2004

Hey everyone, I just installed UT2004 ECE. after installation it said to simply type ut2004 to run the game. I navigate to the ut2004 folder to run the game and get this error: Command not found.

What am I not understanding.

I installed in my home folder, that's the installer selected at first so I just went along with it.

first try going to folder and typing ./ut2004 and see if that works.

I got it working by running the install script with sudo and installing to /usr/local/games. you said you upgraded to ECE already, I also patched to version 3355 which I got from here http://0day.icculus.org/ut2004/ (i couldn't get the patch from the offical site to download. it all works fine now. the only other thing to make sure of is if you install using sudo, do not run the game from the installer at the end of the process or it will cause problems.

Don't worry about the directory. Simply type in "ut2004" in the console to launch it, or make a launcher with this as a command. There should also be an icon in the "applications" main menu under "other".
