HI soon I am getting a external hard drive from the mail to be used as a backup for my website.


OK I have 2 computers one is a old computer that has the servers on it well ubuntu and all the servers set up ect ect.

I want to copy the whole partisan and also be able to use this partician on 2 different computers.


I got a new computer well it was a computer that I paid for... for school to do labs ect I took a electronics class and were taught computer repair ect ect.

so well I want my new computer to host my website and the old one will be a backup.

is it possible to copy a partisan and be able to use this same partisan
for 2 computers???

the 2 computers have different hardware.

I would hate to spend the time again to config all servers again and install the same programs.

I assume that when I pop in the ubuntu installation that it would install the right drivers for the computer and then at the partician editor I would just plug in my external hard drive to transfer the copy of the partician.

is this possible??

Think this might be what you're looking for. Or at least close.

Partimage will copy your whole partition. You can save that as a file and load it onto whatever/wherever you like. Great way to do regular backups as well. :)
