Hi guys,
I am relatively new to Ubuntu. Still getting a hang of everything. But to get the sound/mic set up is one pain the a**

Coming to my problem and i'll try and give you all information i know.

I have an Asus A8NE motherboard with AMD 3500+ processor. I am running on Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron)

Among all my 6 speakers, only 2 with the woofer work.

This link:

is almost identical to the problem i have, i tried it but in vain.

Another thing is that, what is Nvidia CK804(Alsa mixer) and Realtek ALC850 (rev 0 OSS). What do i have to choose.

Attached is what i have in my sound preferences. What are all of them? And again, what do i choose?

Appreciate any help on this.

Edit: I am sorry, i didn't realize the other devices didn't show up in the screenshot.
Anyways, these are what they are
0. Nvidia CK804 (Alsamixer)
1. Realtek ALC850 rev0 (OSS Mixer)
2. Playback: ALSA PCM on front:0 (Nvidia CK804) via DMA (PulseAudio mixer)
3. Capture: Monitor source of ALSA PCM on front:0 (Nvidia CK804) via DMA (PulseAudio mixer)
4. Capture: ALSA PCM on front:0 (Nvidia CK804) via DMA (PulseAudio mixer)
