i'm new in linux (very new) and i use ubuntu
i've downloaded mplayer from it's own website but when i'm trying to configure it inthe end it says: Error: Cannot find header either inttypes.h or bitypes.h. There is no chance for compilation to succeed.
where can i find them?
and if there is anything else i should download please tell me.

Follow this guide and add the medibunto repositories:

Then install mplayer using synaptic package manager and finally goto www.getdeb.net and download SMPlayer for the front-end (everything works fine :)

You need to install the build-essential meta-package.
