I have an image (dd'ed) of a FAT32 recovery partition from an HP Pavilion desktop. I wasn't able to image the whole disk, due to storage limitations at the time, so I need to put the partition image back into a full disk image (with a ~10GB blank NTFS partition), and find some way to boot it in a VM. I'm familiar with the basics of imaging, but I'm not exactly sure how to do this. What I'm trying to do is to use the recovery system to do a "recovery" into the blank partition, in order to see what is contained in the recovery image. Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks,
