Adding Ubuntu CE "essentials" to 64-bit Hardy

By essentials, I mean the CE bootsplash and the GDM greeter. I can install all the packages and visual elements that make Ubuntu CE what it is, except for the two aforementioned items. Any help would be appreciated.

I would kind of like that too,. in fact, I was installing some kde apps in my Ubuntu CE yesterday, got carried away and installed the Kubuntu Usplash, and can't get the UCE one back. I would kind of like to find out how to change that tune that plays as Gnome is booting up to a nice Hymn.
