Running clean ubuntu hardy, with all the latest updates. The computer is using the fan almoust all the time and the cpu temp is running > 55 C only with firefox (two tabs open) and pidin running. Is this high?

1,5 Gb memory .. using 844 .. free 701
1,2 GHz prosessor tuned to go on powersaving with lm-sensors
cpu running on 800MHz

Not running on adapter .. input to the fan is clear ..
now the cpu is 70 C running a flash video

some soloutions to keep it on battery longer?

I'm not sure about 70C with just a flash video.. I'm running Dell m1330, 1.8Ghz, 2gigs of ram. Pidgin/firefox/conky running. Nvidia: 50 C, Cpu1: 42C, Cpu2: 43C.

Up until recently when I removed Dellfand, I haven't heard my fan go any higher than a medium speed.. haven't been going anything really gpu/cpu intensive either though.

"removed Dellfand" ?? do you use a program to control your fan?
