managed to install 8.04.1 within winXP & used it 3-4 times when it started hunging on boot up.

Reinstalled twice with no effect.

Can you help please?

That's a question for the Wubi forum.

I'd advise you to install Ubuntu to its own partition.

Try booting into verbose mode and see where it hangs.

Sorry, found verbose & it run down up to:-
48,717996 Driver "sd" needs updating, use bus type methods

The same with the grafix choice, upt to 47,..................

Can the .ISO be burned into a DVD-R or DVD-RW? Mine only accepted to burn it in a CD-RW.

I've heard of tools that can do this trick, but haven't tried.. you are better off using a CD/CD-RW I guess..

Well, this time reburned the .iso on a CD-R, installed on HD, booted OK 2-3times even imported addresses & favourites & the ruddy thing packed up again & won't boot.

Goes up to six travels of the orange line & hungs.

It even wot't boot from the CD-R.

Could it be my system?
