I suggest you to install VirtualBox, but if you need USB support you have to install from http://virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads it's a comercial version free for personal use (in the repositories there is a OSE version but without USB support)

If you want to pull your hair out and bang your head against a brick wall, try VMware server in Hardy.

122 people have had a look at my post, and not one person can make a suggestion. I am effectively being forced back into the Microsoft world, against my will...

so yeah, Virtualbox.
