Currently running Sarge on the desktop and Mepis and ubuntu with the KDE and gnome desktops on Breezy.

Experimenting before my latest breezy upgrade I found that xboard, and knights were fine on Warty and Hoary Kubuntu as well. Now with Breezy theres no chess yet. Xboard shows a CLI error message that no such file or directory exists for xaw3d.6, though a search in the files shows its there and so is a version xaw3d 7. Till I get the box online the others need a mess of libs that are probably not installed or included on the cds.

I do have a tendency to experiment by adding alien produced libs and stuff if I cant get something running so the 7 version of xaw3d might be extraneous, but after two days of installing and reinstalling and trying to configure x and eboard and knights, none of the graphic frontends work. Is this a breezy problem?

Ive downloaded more libs and ubuntu versions of all the chessboards, since i was using deb packages before, which might do the trick. Anyone else have this problem on Breezy?

Good news is everything else is smooth. Its great having both desktops on ubuntu in full working order. The latest KDE s got some changes even to the 3.4 on Kubuntu Hoary, but it looks good.
