Hello,

So I was digging through my old stuff and happen to run into a play station controller and a USB adapter which I never used. So I was wondering if there's a game controller manager for Ubuntu? If not, how do you get Ubuntu to recognize a play station controller? Also is there a way I can test out the controller without a game?

well, ubuntu detects usb controllers automagically, but if you want to test it you could always install jstest and jscalibrator

sudo aptitude install joystick

there is a graphical interface for it... just go to add/remove programs and look for "joystick calibration" in the accessories group

I agree with the above poster, except about jscalibrator. Perhaps there are exceptions, but every thread mentioning it has someone with a controller problem.

Just go for the plug and play, and use the app's built in joystick settings.

Weird, haven't had any problems with jscalibrator in the past, and trust me, I have used it many many times :)
