August 23rd, 2008, 07:20 PM
Hi again, Ubuntu is going well, just checking the system to see if it can run Compiz, but after su, I cannot find the password, despite typing it in the same as in start ups like twenty five times. All upper case.
What can I do?

Well I know it doesnt show the password being typed so you have to type it and then press enter.
Unless you specified a root password on setup

Open a text editor and type your password. The idea is to check that the keyboard mapping hasn't changed, which will happen if, for example, you are trying to run Compiz on Xgl. If some symbols are in the wrong place, just use trial and error to find them. Post back if you need a more permanent fix.
