Bad news (http://openprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=Lexmark-P6250) I'm afraid. To have any hope of getting that printer to work in Linux, I would suggest looking in the forum linked from that page.

If you are ever thinking of buying another printer, and you want it to work in Linux, the two best makes are probably HP and Epson, but check in the OpenPrinting database first.

Hold the horse!

I have always configured Lexmark printers like this:

1. Google its HP equivalent.
2. Install the HP driver.

Works great for my E232 laser = HP equivalent PCL 6.

So try it.

That only works is there actually is an equivalent meaning that a specific lexmark model is identical to an hp model. Your E232 is listed at the open printing database as working perfectly (http://openprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=Lexmark-E232), but as was already pointed out the printer in question is not.

Hello,
Sorry to hear ... Still, it's worth the try ...
Try at least similar drivers, you might lose some functionality, but it's better than nothing.
