Hi All,

I just thought that I would share my success at getting the ATI drivers installed on Hardy 64-Bit version.

The card is an X1950XT, and until tonight I have not had any success in getting drivers to work correctly. I came across the unofficial installation wiki on the ATI/AMD website:

http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubuntu_Hardy_Installation_Guide (http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubuntu_Hardy_Installation_Guide)

I did try method 1 a few days ago but it was unsuccessful.

Tonight I attempted method 2 and followed the instructions where applicable, making sure I read everything properly before proceeding.

Low and behold I now have 3D accelerated graphics and Compiz works with effects and cube etc.

I will now be making a slow migration across to Ubuntu for good and attempt to drop MS permanently!!

I would like to thank many of you on the forums who have given me advice along the way, which is why I find myself writing this so that it may help someone else!

All the best,

Ross
