Hey,
I was wondering if there is a driver out for Line 6's Toneport UX2 that i could use in Ubuntu, I could care less about Gearbox. I just want to know if there is some kind of driver I could use to get this thing working.
If there is some way I can get it working how would I do this, I have looked around for some time now and i get mixed results from peoples responses about if they get it working or not. So if you guys give instruction bare in mind i just got Ubuntu a lil bit ago, doing my best to learn it and someday and then help others once I do. If at all possible i would AT LEAST like to get this thing to be able to play back and record the guitar even if its clean, I could use some effects software laters.
Thanks in advance! :guitar:
Note:
I have Ubuntu Studio handy just in case i need it. &
I dont want windows near my laptop lol, no dual boot for me :-D. Xp is old and sp3 just sucks and vista... lol not even going there.

Hi, is there anybody that can help with setting up a Line 6 UX2 under Ubuntu 9.10 (64bit)? This would be so appreciated.
I found this link: http://www.ubuntugeek.com/how-to-install-a-line6-guitarport-or-toneport-ux1-or-gx.html
but could not get it to work using only headphones, I don't have speakers so can't say if it works through that output.
Please help!
Thanks for you time and effort in advance. :)

The Ubuntu kernels have the Line6 USB module included. So simply plugging in your Toneport should suffice. In how far did you follow the ubuntugeek howto?

I followed the ubuntugeek thingy exactly, but no beans with my UX2..
I would also appreciate any help.
In my case, it seems that ubuntu does not recognize that the UX2 is even pluged in..
i hope some of these outputs will help

That wasn' t necessary, the Line6 module comes standard with 9.04 and 9.10:
jeremy@soushi:~$ cat /boot/config-2.6.31-14-generic | grep -i line6
CONFIG_LINE6_USB=m
So hopefully the ubuntugeek howto didn' t mess things up. Did you already try sudo modprobe line6usb to load the module manually?

Sorry if this is a dead thread.. but I realized this doesn't solve the problem. The drivers that come with Ubuntu do allow you to hear audio through the speakers, but they don't allow for mic input (only one instrument input).
chris@ubuntu:~$ cat /boot/config-2.6.38-8-generic | grep -i line6
CONFIG_LINE6_USB=m
# CONFIG_LINE6_USB_DEBUG is not set
# CONFIG_LINE6_USB_DUMP_CTRL is not set
# CONFIG_LINE6_USB_DUMP_MIDI is not set
# CONFIG_LINE6_USB_DUMP_PCM is not set
# CONFIG_LINE6_USB_RAW is not set
# CONFIG_LINE6_USB_IMPULSE_RESPONSE is not set
Can anyone explain what the following lines mean/what I should do to "set" the configs?
