I haven't been able to find anyone with this problem, so I'm posting it here. Apologies in advance if I've just missed the thread.

I'm running Hardy on a new Lenovo Y510; I've already read the whole archived thread on the various minor issues with this laptop, and applied the known bugs (and am living with the dimmer problem). However, I'm having trouble with Solarwolf, my daughter's favorite game.

Each time we run it, sometime around the second level (but sometimes in the first), the display freezes. Music and sound effects continue to play, and it sounds like the game is still running. Just, no motion.

I have Hardy installed on another system with an ATI graphics adapter, Core2 Quad processor and DP35DPM mainboard, and Solarwolf works fine there.

Anyone have any idea what's going on here?

(Oh, and both systems are up-to-date as of right now.)

Thanks, I'll try that. I forgot my desktop has Compiz turned off; probably why I never saw the problem before.
