my password doesnt work

I still cant log into ubuntu. I have installed the latest version of ubuntu 6 times, and the password I select each time doesnt work. can anybody give me a solution other than checking caps lock or the obvious stuff?

boot to the recovery version...if you can.

At the command line prompt (#), use the 'passwd' command to change your login password.
