Hi Everyone

I have a desktop computer that runs Ubuntu 8.04. I am thinking of upgrading my motherboard, graphics card and CPU with hand-me-downs from a friend. I would like to know if I have to re-install the entire Ubuntu system or perhaps the current installation will still work except for some reconfiguration. I would appreciate advice. Regards,

Tariq

If the hardware is compatible, then it may just run out of the box (OOTB). It is hard to give you a more exact answer. Ubuntu does check for new hardware upon boot up.

Thanks for the post. The motherboard, cpu and the graphics card are all compatible. I was just wondering if there is something I need to do just before I yank the old stuff out and put new stuff in. Regards,
