Given the choice between the similarly priced Bamboo Fun Medium and the Intuos3 4x6 which one would you choose? The main differences being:

Bamboo Fun Medium
512 pressure levels
2540 lpi
Active area 5.3 x 8.5

Intuos3 4x6
1024 pressure levels
5080 lpi
Active area 4 x 6

Even though the work area is smaller on the Intuos3, if I calculate:

5.3 x 8.5 x 2540 = 114427
4 x 6 x 5080 = 121920

Assuming this is a valid comparison/calculation (?) then the actual precision is essentially the same. That being the case I lean a little bit toward having the larger area simply for the benefit of not having to draw things so small... but other people have stated that the smaller area is an advantage for the opposite reason, not having to move the pen as far. I have never used a tablet, and I have no way to test one (I would think that Best Buy would have them set up on display like they do keyboards and mice, but no).

And for $100 more I can make the jump to the Intuos3 6x8, no doubt better by far than either of the two above, but is it worth it? Assume that I want to do more than sign my name, or draw circles around some text and scribble notes -- I never do any of that. I want to do artwork and navigate the desktop without using the mouse.

Do you have the 4x6 ? Is so, do you have any trouble navigating the desktop or doing graphic work on the (relatively) small area?
