Hey there, new Ubuntu user trying to figure out how to access my MP3 Player with Ubuntu.

It is a Sony-S718F, and worked great with Vista. I want to find out how to use it as just a USB drive basically (It is capable of drag and drop, which also worked on Vista).

I have tested all my USB ports with various flash drives and such, and they all work.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

I found this thread, which is similar, but I don't know where to start:

I don't know if this will help but... i have a GPX Media player and with it i read the instructions on how it can switch modes from an MTP player to a USB Player when i have it connected to my computer. just push the M button.

Thanks, that's a good idea, my old mp3 player had that option. I'm fairly sure this one does too, but I don't see it.
