View Full Version : [ubuntu] good dual boot graphical loader?

Hi,

I finally got Ubuntu (Dapper Drake) installed on my Powerbook 15' FW800 aluminum powerbook.

I have Mac OX (10.4.11) also installed on another partition. They both work fine, and yaboot gives me the option to boot either one, as expected.

However, I would really like a neater/cleaner graphical boot loader. I do like the geeky feel of the normal non-GUI yaboot, but it fades =)

I rather have a nice, graphical display that lets me pick the OS I want to load.

Most seem to work either with PCs or with Intel Macs, but I have not been able to find a good solution for the PPC.

Does anyone have an idea? Splashy? I download it, but haven't been able to figure out how to install it - sorry, I am new =) Should I figure that one out?

Or, is there something else?

Any hints, clues, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance, and thanks for reading =)

Mat

Have you looked into rEFIt (http://refit.sourceforge.net/)? That's what I use.

I was going to make a thread on this just now. Mac users can be very finicky - i'll need a pretty loader to convince one to try linux.
