View Full Version : [SOLVED] changes to the forums?

Has the navigation of the forums been changed? I don't remember having to make two or more clicks just to get to the last post in a thread. Many of us are on dialup and this is a terrible nuisance.
PLEASE fix this. All it takes is a link to the "last page" of a thread to appear on the index pages. Simple... right?

In the "Last Post" column click on the dual brown arrows.

Of course, speaking of intuitive, you could always just set your user preferences to always show the last post first.

For me having this to "links" to the last page is more than enough.

Kassetra,, not only do I not find that thing you are talking about (and I believe I would if I could find it) I also cannot find this setting where we are supposed to be able to show search results, etc from the "backyard" forum. I found one place where you can select what forums appear, but THAT forum isn't even in the list!
BS, you see... this is the problem. I remember those things being here, but now they have disappeared! This is what I see in the forum lists...

The 'New Posts' that you show are all less than one page, so why would they have a 'last page?'

Jeezus effin christ...
NONE of them have the indexes. ALL the pages look like that. I am quite certain I made this clear with my initial post that parented this thread.
*******... do you have anything CONSTRUCTIVE to offer?

*****... do you have anything CONSTRUCTIVE to offer? Personally, this is a bash fest from me to you poptones because I have been viewing a lot of your posts, and they're basically coming from your ***, and I am sorry this is rude, but...
First off: DO NOT use the lords name in vain.
Second: take the time to understand what people are saying to you and actually look for the small pointers on the forum instead of raising hell about it and then posting something about it that says in your words "These guys can't do anything right at all" and just make the members of this forum look at staff as if they don't do things right.
Note to yourself that I do not agree with a lot of your posts, and you may have a vice versa with me, but the members are watching and yes, my post as well, and in which is telling you to read and research before you reply back with a "I don't see it or can't find it, you guys suck"
I really apologize for this post, but it needed to be pointed out.

What I am talking about is User CP -> Edit Options -> Thread Display Mode.
The backyard is not included in any search, regardless of what settings you choose. The backyard isn't included in most of the forum functions.
I'm really not sure of what items you say are missing, because I am unable to find any items you have listed as missing... to be missing. Are there more examples of items that you are missing?

He's your lord, not mine. I'll say whatever I goddamn please.
And my post was not "I don't see it or cannot find it you guys suck" - YOU brought that with you. What I said was THE FORUMS SEEMS TO HAVE CHANGED. See it up there in the title? "Changes to the forums?" See the **** QUESTION MARK?
Just now when I dropped in all the threads appeared in that "threaded mode" where you get one post in a box with the titles above - even though I do not have that set in my preferences.
What I am saying is things seem really dodgy. Features have gone missing and the settings do not seem to be working.

It is not my goal to get into an argument with you here. I just want to share my experience as evidence.
I haven't noticed any features missing. My settings page works fine. As far as I can tell there have been no real changes for several weeks, with the exception of The Backyard (creation, permissions, whether it appears in searches, name fluctuation).
What specifically are you experiencing as dodgy?

I got no idea what was going on or is going on. All I know is I was getting none of the "last page" links on the index pages and every time I returned to this forum the view was apparently reset to some random choice. I cleared the cookies and reopened the browser and the "last page" links are now back.
