hi,

i was trying to find the "dev" line of my external usb hard drive for running it in my vmware but dont actually know to much about what it is or finding it.

the tutorial i was reading said use the "mount" command which i did but from that could not figure out what was my external in the list and when i kind of got a clue did not know what to include in the path. but im supposed to use it to route to a "physical drive".

basically i have the vmware partition installed on my internal HD but all my media is on my external which i want to use vmware for running itunes. i have tried putting in the usb portion of VM but it wont find the simple drive. any tips?

also if anyone has done this do you know if this will affect the ntfs partition that is on my external or will it be ok?

thanks a lot
