I've been toying with Opensuse, I did have version 11 installed and got annoyed with the network issue, so I deleted the partition, of course that screw up grub after that, so I gave Opensuse another go. But as my cd's aren't marked up I managed to install version 10.3 (gnome), so I thought ok, hopefully I won't have the network issue and I can have the experience of an upgrade as well!!

Anyway after a frustrating fight with the updates it started updating things, so I left it alone, came back to it and the screen had gone blank! Ok no panic just wake it up with the mouse. No, all I saw was the odd flash of a mouse cursor on screen, through my annoyance I did the crtl alt backspace. Big mistake, now "X" won't start, when I type startx I get the following error which I've written what seems to be in important stuff down, but it would be handy to be able to do like a screen print from CLI

INPUT_METHOD is not set or empty

There is no default input method for current locale

GCONFTOOL-2: Error while loading shared libaries: LIBGMODULE-2.0.so.0: Cannot open shared object.

And then it goes on about not able to find a directory in bin I think, damn should have noted that as well. I've been searching the last day for answer, but no luck, so I though I'd try here. I was about to wipe the partition and start again, but I thought I should try and fix it, so I gain more knowledge

Thanks in advance
