Dear Ubuntu'ers,
I have an all-too-common problem with my Toshiba: sound comes through the speakers, but when I plug in the headphones, sound continues through the computer speakers, but NOT the headphones.
I've seen dozens of posts regarding sound problems with Toshiba Satellites and have tried them all without success (e.g., fiddling with alsamixergui, alsa-base, compiling from source, etc., etc.).
Can somebody provide a SIMPLE and CLEAR STEP-BY-STEP description of how to correct this?
