I've just received the new Dell XPS M1330n which is preloaded Ubuntu 8.04.
Everything seems to work out of the box. But I don't see any program that could use the webcam. I just want to use the webcam in instant messenger software.
Anyone has idea ?

Finally, I got Kopete work with webcam. However, Kopete doesn't let me to broadcast. I only start webcam when chatting with someone and invite them to see my wc.
Any ideas to broadcast the wc without inviting other ?
Thanks.

You can use Cheese to take snapshots or videos (this is preshipped). You can use ekiga for chatting w/ SIP friends (also shipped). You can head to the skype website and grab the skype deb to talk to skype buddies.

You may have to work with the settings > Open Ekiga > Edit > Preferences > Video > Video Devices > try changing some of the settings.( Video Plugin if it shows V4L change to V4L2) if working with the settings does not work or help.
Post the results of the command > lsusb
