ok so i am some what of a noob to Linux. and i need help installing my 8800 gts drivers. because i need them for games and blue ray. so i went to system tab and then to hardware drivers and turned on the accelerated drivers, they don't do much for me. so i went to the nvidia website, where i downloaded the drivers for a 64x Linux operating system and the 8800 drivers. so i know what i downloaded is right. then i read the tutorial thats when i got lost. i need to turn off the x server and open gl. then install the drivers. so my question is how do i turn off the x sever and open gl, so i can install the drivers?

heres the link to the tutorial
