It'll be running on a macbook with 1 GB RAM

Also, will I be able to play CS 1.6 virtually (and perhaps WoW, but I doubt 1 GB of RAM will be enough) or do I need a bootcamp for that?

Lastly, is there a free version like VMware server for windows?

Counterstrike runs on machines with 256Mb RAM, so you will be fine.

WoW has a native OSX Version so you don't need to worry. The DVD is a hybrid disc so it installs which one you need, depending on whether your on Windows or OSX.

There is virtualbox, but again, Google is your friend to find the best suited one for you: http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads

Personally I recommend Parallels for Windows, and VMware Fusion for most other things. I just prefer it, up to you though.

You could always use Crossover Games for Mac, that saves running 2 OS's at the same time just to play CS.
