I gave up on network manager, same as many other people here. It was killing my wired connection sometimes, losing wireless connections too. The last drop was when it just hang up and stopped working. BTW, in Gutsy it worked much better and didn't interfere with wired connection, which was not in roaming mode.

I don't know if it worth it to submit a bug, there are probably plenty of them already. I think Ubuntu maintainers should think hard about getting rid of nm and replacing it with something else. I vote for wicd.

Oops, I was in too much hurry. It appears that wicd also has problems, they are just different. With Network Manager, I'm losing wifi connection once in a while and recovering it is a real drag. With wicd, WEP only worked once, I had to enter it using iwconfig after that. Couldn't make it work with WPA. I have one laptop with wicd, one with NM now. Will see which is better.

1.52 has a place to input your info and keep it saved.
