Second-time Ubuntu user here. After an unsuccessful attempt at Linux Mint I decided to re-install Ubuntu. I currently have a triple-boot setup: Leopard on a 130GB partition, XP on a 60GB partition (partitioned through boot camp, but installed manually), and Ubuntu on a 40GB partition. No swap or anything else like that. And this is on an out-of-the-box 20" Aluminum Intel iMac.

The problem: When in Ubuntu, I can't access the internet or even find my home network. I have a direct ethernet connection, so I'm not dealing with any wireless issues. Last time my network configured itself automatically and I didn't have this problem. I re-downloaded the .iso and burned it two more times (on the slowest burn speed) and still I can't even get access from the LiveCD. The stickies in this forum don't help and I have no clue where to start. Suggestions?

I may not be much help because mine worked automatically. Do you have the network icon at the to next to the date and time? If you click on wired connection it should find the connection. I don't think you have to configure your router. I think it uses the same address for whichever os you happen to be using.

Well apparently it was Airport that was screwing me up. Once I disabled it in Leopard I was able to detect my network in Ubuntu. Weird.
