I downloaded the 8.04.1 amd64 release of ubuntu and installed it on a dell d630 (965gm graphics, broadcom minilan, ...)
when I do o uname -r I get 2.6.24-19-generic
Why don't I see a amd64 in the kernel name? My laptop is a core2 duo. The software installer shows other kernel options including
linux-amd64-generic
Should I use that kernel?
