Can this be done?

My machine which has all our video, photo's music, tv tuner card is running XP - something which I won't change in part due to our graphics card not working in Linux. My other networked machine runs Kubuntu 8.04 and I can access the TV, Video etc via Firefox which is fine, but I would like to have it all inside an app like MythTV. My question is can this work?

At the moment I have installed MythTV on Kubuntu machine, and I have Nero MediaHome on the XP machine - so the UPnP is all there. Can I simply install MySQL on to the XP machine and run it that way - or would that not work?

Also, why doesn't MythTV just "see" the Nero MediaHome UPnP set-up and link to it?

Thanks in advance.

I don't think mythtv is meant to function as regular UPnP client. GeexBox would probably be better for that. Mythfrontend is primarily meant to function as a client to its backend.

I think this will be very difficult for you to do because there is more to a myth backend than UPnP and mysql.

Thanks for the info. I'll give Geexbox a go.
