I had been using onboard audio for a while in Linux as my soundcard wouldn't work when onboard was enabled, and I used both in Windows so I could select which app would use headphones and which would use speakers. Recently I disabled onboard audio entirely and only use my soundcard, a Turtle Beach Catalina. Now Linux uses this as the primary sound card.
In Windows I have used this for a while with no issues, it's a great card. In Linux it plays sounds and music fine with no issues, but now my UT2k4 sounds are messed up; it's hard to describe, but it's almost as if everything but the low-end has been cut off entirely, and the sounds are all low-pitched and garbled. Not distorted really, but just wrong. This is from the initial loading screen through gameplay.
What's wrong, and why is it doing this? This is the only game I have installed in Linux currently. Help?
