I just saw on the site by coincidence that there are new ATI linux drivers available today, in addition to the 5.11's available for Windows. Has anyone tried them yet?

Blech, I'm having problems with them. I ran the installer and all, but now my 3D doesn't work right. (~300fps in glxgears instead of ~7000) Blech. The release notes apparently just indicate a fix for amd-64 based systems, nothing about huge performance increases or working AA/AF/Vsync/TB. Oh well. :(

One of the things that intrige me is why ATI and Nvidia offer a mediocre support for our platform. Considering that companies and goverments around the world are switching to Linux and that the desktop market share will grow from 2.5% to 9 to 10% in 3 years beating apple and other alternative operating systems. They support apple which have 3% of the share market today, why they dont support Linux?
