Hi all,
I do run Mythbuntu 8.04 on an Intel D201GLY2.
I have an slim IDE DVD drive.
I configured libdvdread to be able to read my DVD's.
I output the video on the VGA cable to my LG 42" Plasma (LG 42PG3000).
I use the Mythtv internal player to play video and DVD's.
If I play a Divx which I did not made myself, the video displays nicely and smoothly on the TV.
If I play a DVD I bought (Winnie the pooh ;-) ), the video displays jerkily.
I then go to the menu (M) and select the video scan 'progressive'.
This is much better but still displays 'interlace' effects when the video is accelerating a bit (although Winnie is often quite ;-) ).
I checked my playback profiles and they are all using Bob2 deinterlacing method.
If I RIP the DVD (I use the 'Good' quality and output a Xvid), the resulting avi file will show the same 'interlaced' effect when played.
I opened the DVD on a windows PC with VLC and it showed the same 'interlaced' effect until I went to the VLC menu video->deinterlace->bob.
Where can I see if the deinterlacing is well done by mythtv ?
I'm quite lost...
Thanks in advance,
Pierre.
