Sound wont record

hi all,

i recently downloaded gtk-recordmydesktop and ive encountered a few problems.

When i record my video, it seems to be a little dim and the video seems to have poor lighting conditions.

Also, is there a way to record digitally like to bg music? instead of the mic-only
