how to subscribe to a thread

I just posted a new thread, but forgot to subscribe to it.
How can I do that afterwards?
How anyway to subscribe to a thread that is written by somebody else, to receive every time a mail when that thread gets an update?

When reading the thread, click on "Thread tools". One of the options is to subscribe to the thread.
